The Glove that Thumped Ali
Allegedly Ali’s glove has been stolen, so this is the only one in existence of its kind!
1975 W.B.A World Title Fight in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia.
The actual fight (June 30th, 1975) gloves were immortalized in solid pewter by the Malaysian Government and presented to Muhammad Ali and Joe Bugner by the Minister of Sport.
Ali picked the right glove, Joe the left (known for his left jab). Ali won this historical fight that went the full distance of 15 rounds and started late afternoon local time to allow the fighters respite from the daytime heat.
Owing to death threats made by the Muslim fanatical group Joe was placed under tight security for the duration of his stay.
The Glove is engraved with the fighters name.
